Things to ♥

Hello my lovely dearies!

Wishing you a very Happy Valentine's Day. Hope you share it with your loved ones :)
A honest confession from myside.. i have never been a romantic person at heart, tho the banker disagrees, but i never have read the Mills n Boons or any other romantic books for that matter. Neither do i do candle light dinners or the romantic songs. Like the suspense and murder mystery genre more :)

But i am happy to be blessed with people and things to love. Foremost are my 2 little ones. They mean the world to me. A caring and loving tolerating and supporting(he supports all my crafty needs) husband, caring parents and in-laws. Also all my friends whom i have met thru this wonderful blogging adventure.

I am also blessed with the ability to be crafty(i think i am right?). My love for yarn and crochet, my paper crafting love and in general getting excited at anything crafty love.

Ok, now to show you guys some color love...


There has been a lot of this sunburst goodness going around the crochet bloggerland and you can find the famous pattern HERE. I have used Laura Cotton thread hooked with a 4.0mm hook. For the base n sides i held a strand of Stylecraft Special DK n a strand of Laura cotton together for additional thickness and firmness. But still i need to shop for handles and also sew in a lining....ahhh... more to do so much to do and so less time!

My second crochet love - blue ripple blanket. Coming along nicely...






Oops... when did she get in here..off i go now to bake a cake.

    Lovely blanket and the bag is super! Beautiful colors :) But I did not like Laura cotton. It doesn't have any lustre. I tried it for few motifs.
    I too never read mills n boons but loved reading the classic ones like 'Gone with the wind' etc when I was in senior school. I cannot judge my life, there is everything Raj has given, not sure, whether it comes out of loving, caring, tolerating, emotional quotient etc...but yes, he is more emotional than me :)

      Is it, i like Laura Cotton a lot but i really would love Rowan Cotton tho its out of my budget :(
      GWTW is an all time classic right, esp the line "Frankly my dear, i don't give a damn!"

    Well..me and my husband both are aiming to have a romantic dinner tonight, it's been really long time!
    Your bag's colors are so beautiful! I never tried to work with cotton yarn, but Id' love to. The ripple blanket is lovely!

    What a pretty colorfull post today! Love the blankets and especially the yarn bag. Do you have a pattern for it? I would love to try to make the bag. Have a lovely valentines day with the people you love!

      Hello! The pattern for the bag i am pretty much making and improvising as i go. Will probably share it once i am fully done with it. The pattern for the Sunburst Granny is :

    That Sunburst Bag looks soooo lovely! And yes, Sunburst Grannys seem to be THE THING at the moment. Glad I'm trendy for once with my baby blanket *gg*

    And that ripple is just awesome! I'm doing a blanket for my son, too. He needs one for kindergarten which he will start in August, so I decided to knit a garter stitch blanket in rainbow colours...

    Ooooh Lala! I love this blanket. It looks classy! The bag looks beutiful too. I liked Laura. Its the best cotton yarn and only one with this thickness, available in India and its affordable.
    I dont know what to say about being romantic. May be I am in the same boat as you are. ;)

    Happy Valentine's Day, dear. Arey yaar, that bag has turned out just super. Why don't you just crochet white handles or maybe rainbow handles? I am so tempted to start a ripple blanket seeing yours but I am sure I don't have the patience. Pics of your cutie always brighten my day. We may be going out for dinner today, but that is also to celebrate the trophy my son got as Star Student among 300 kids!

    oh! my what gorgeous gorgeous loveliness! Which of your makes do I like the most here...impossible to choose from! That bag is going to be so delicious. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished item. As for the ripple blanket well the combination of colours you've chosen are just perfect.
