Rainbow buntings and an award

Hello my DEAR lovely people!

How are you doing today? Hope everyone is in the spirit of the season :) The year end is always special, when we review the year which has gone by, wait for the next year to unfold. Hopes, dreams, aspirations and the like :) Time for resolutions i think. I had a great list of things to be done this year. But maybe all that in another post :)

For now, i am happy - no in fact i am gleefully and super duper pleased with how this little project turned out.
What started as an idle afternoon's triangle making...
Turned into a rainbow of triangles, which in turn turned into..
A happy rainbow bunting of course!! :) I think bunting is one of the cutest things you can do with crochet and i am unhappy with myself for not trying it earlier.
The wall of the living room now looks festive now, my little girl is super happy with her mommy for getting a rainbow into her home. Ahh...pleasures of a stay at home mom i must say!!
Speaking of pleasures, i was thrilled and super pleased to receive an award from a dear blogger friend Anna of Hindustanka's Sunny Indian Days. She is a very talented lady, living in India but originally from Russia. She has a very beautiful and magical love story:)

Thank you so much Anna!! Will do the questions and the nominations soon!

Till then, take care..lotsa love and cheer,
xxx

Circle Motif Bunting

Hello my lovely people!

Hoping this post sees you guys in good spirits. A warm welcome to Charlotte from Charlotte's Web and also Kara from Petals to Picots.

Weekend is just around the corner and tomorrow is my better 1/2 's birthday :) Yes he is now gonna be as old as me...he he. Have been racking my brains on a suitable gift which does not include clothes, books, electronics or food. Lets see what i can get excluding this... my little girl has something ready for her Papa. Will post it tom, after he also sees it!

Else, i completed my motif bunting as you can see below.

The little people have been having a go at it and hence its way above their reach now. Adorning the curtain panel, i must say i am damn pleased with the look in my bed room now :)

A few close-up shots of the bunting. Used chain stitch and hooked up the motifs at 2 points per motif using a SC.

As for my real flowers, here they are..

in full bloom - divine fragrance and a sight to behold :)

Parting shots of my new bunting. I AM!

Hope you guys have good plans for the weekend, hooky wise and otherwise!
Love,

Fishy Business

Its been a busy weekend with the family. Weekends are days when either I can get a lot of hooky work done or none at all. If the little ones bond well with the Dad, its my day off..else its double the trouble!

We have an agreement that Sunday is Momma's day off :-) That means I can crochet away to glory, but its often not the case. With my helper off for most of the day, i can hardly get anything done.

But this weekend my kids were good, snoozed off at the same time and I had a few brief hours of blissful playtime at hand.

So out came the creative mind, have been caught up with this crochet bunting. Really cute projects, fun to do and they color up any room. Also the project gets done quickly, i am happy and so arethe kids. They love playing with the buntings.

Here she is teaching him numbers and colors at the same time:)

Have been wanting to do a fish bunting for a while. Ravelry and Google dint give me a happy pattern, so hooked this one on my own. First wanted to make various color fishes, then thought of keeping them blue and outlining them in colors of the rainbow.

All lined up and looking soo cheerful and colorful!I have blocked them and also lined each of the fish with a layer of ordinary white glue to give it some firmness so that they don't droop off.

The only thing remaining is to sew them together and voila! they are ready to go up on my wall. By the way, this has been a special request from Little Miss. Waiting to see her expression when i am all done and it is hanging colorfully below her window:)

Meanwhile house hold work cannot be put off forever right? Oh how i wish that would be possible, but yeah need to take a reality check and get some stuff out of the way so that i can start off with the Blanket again.

A new table cloth for the dining table was a long due purchase. Went out to get it before laziness and other habits catch up. Think the bright yellow flowers did the trick. Curious to know if Banker would notice the new addition :)

Hopefully can get the fish line done today and start off on the blanket too.
