My first ever shawl..!

Dear people,

First of all let me start by wishing all my blogger friends a very happy holiday season. Which ever part of the world you are in and what ever manner you are celebrating this season, hope it is going to be merry and filled with love, laughter and all the really matters!

I have something to show you today, a finished garment. This took me a LONGGGGGGGGgg time to make, mainly because I used a 3.00 mm hook whereas the pattern called for a 6.00mm. But, the result is so worth it! It is soo smooth and drapey and I love snuggling in it.

So here it is, my first every shawl!

The pattern in Mother of Bride shawl and the free pattern can be found HERE.

It really is a simple repeat of this shell stitch.

Particularly happy with the border. Did you like it? It was on my own, just let the hook and the yarn do the talking..

The shawl fully spread out...

Its been a while he was featured here :P He loves snuggling in my shawl and calls it his cosy blanket!

Thats it from me my dearies!

I have 2 weeks of holidays + kids @ home + cold brrrr cold weather + awesome sales + 2 colorful hooky things + lots of yummy food to keep me company.. Hope you are are more blessed than me :)

Love and more,

Princess Bolero

Hello my beautiful people!

How are you doing today?
Its been a normal week for me. School, kids, house work and hooky time. Things are settling down nicely now. The little miss is off to school for a good 3 hours. I get some breather. Though not much as the younger man is becoming all active now-a-days. Climbs and climbs and climbs some more. He is always up to some mischief and needs constant monitoring with both hands free. Still does not talk much but never fails to communicate his heart desires and gets it done!! Everything is done with pointy fingers now :) I am enjoying that till the time he does not talk and start demanding in louder tones!

Today i am sharing a very special piece of crochet with my lovely readers. This is the first crochet wearable i have ever done. It was done on a trial basis but turned out much better than i expected.

You can find the pattern HERE.
Of-course i modified it :) Also added a different color row, think that just adds life to the entire shrug!

Here's little miss, modeling it for me and my readers, she refused to wear a garment below. Said she needs "only only sweater"!

This is real close to my heart! Hope you guys liked it!!

My granny patch blanket is coming along, boy it is a huge task! 672 squares!! What was i thinking??? Anyways i am having fun in a relaxing way. The real fun fun begins when i start joining them! I have done 70+ more squares in 2 shades of blue. Now have moved on to peaches and purples. Think i will be out of yarn as i seem to have under ordered. Must rectify that immediately and order some more. Mr Banker better not be reading this, else he will say," more yarn? Why don't you open i shop?" Oh, how i wish:)

Bye of now, happy hooking and colorful crafting.

Love.

Baked some yummmy finger food...

She could not keep her fingers off it..

I also managed some finger crochet. Meaning Motifs..

I am going to scold myself..Bad bad girl..have not done a lot for the Beyond the Square challenge. I am going to make up for this.. For sure, be tuned in to this space :)

Motif #7 from CIRCLES.
Please see the side bar for more on this challenge from Barbara of Made in K-Town.

Ending the post with one of my favourite crochet items made for my little miss. This t-shirt was greatly enhanced by the crochet collar. I don't quite remember the pattern but it is really easy.

I cant believe this, but this Monday i am truly missing the BLUES. No more office means no more monday rushes and no more blues. I used to have long coffee breaks to get winded up for the week ahead @ work! Do you guys miss work? Maybe i am missing it now, after 2 years..hopefully will get back to it...hopefully..once the kids are out of diapers and start schooling...

Hope you guys have a great week ahead, if you are working and having the BLUES, go and grab a coffee from my side!!

Taata..

Vintage hand towel

Good day to all the lovely people out there!

Hope you have been happy and fine. We are having our summer season here - its hot, humid and good...

What have i been up to? Crocheting some vintage lace here. Oh how i wish i had a sewing machine, the joy of convenience is few feet away. Literally, i would do anything for some space in my house, which could fit the machine. But we live in HongKong where space IS a luxury :(

So, the next best thing - hand sewed this towel from my fabric stash. I replenished my stock recently and will post the pics soon..

You would need a metallic crochet hook for this project as you need to do the SC through the ric-rac and metallic hook acts as a needle in piercing the ric-rac.Doesn't it give a vintage feel to the towel?

Loved the fabric too. Notice how it has a self matte finish to it..Beautiful!!

Added a loop with ric-rac and joined it with a wooden button and you have a vintage hand towel ready to use.

An easy project, my mind is now swimming with other possibilities....off i go to attend to my creative spurt..whilst the little people are taking a nap :)

Have a great and colorful day,

Love.
